Kansas Gulf War Veterans Health Study
In order to better understand the nature and extent of health problems reported by Gulf War veterans in Kansas, an epidemiologic study was initiated in 1998 in conjunction with Kansas State University. Veterans provided information about their health and that of family members. In summary, it was found that 34% of Gulf War Veterans are affected by a pattern of symptoms linked to military service in the 1990-91 Persian Gulf War. This rate differed by where and when the veteran served in the Gulf. The complete study results are available in the November 15, 2000, American Journal of Epidemiolgy or please feel free to contact this agency.
